Al Gomes has been in the music business and arts scene for over 30 years.

Al is the founder of Big Noise, an international artist development and music promotion firm. His work at Big Noise, along with partner A. Michelle, has included overseeing over 200 recording projects from conception, A&R, and design to manufacturing, marketing and distribution.

In addition, Big Noise has designed award-winning websites for superstar artists like Christina Aguilera ('Best Websites of the 21st Century' - Entertainment Weekly), Billy Gilman, Little Anthony and the Imperials, and many others.

Al also serves as part of Christina Aguilera's promotion and marketing team, as well as being her biographer and archivist. In addition, Al produced two holiday singles for Aguilera and executive produced a #1 dance remix of her single 'What A Girl Wants.'

Big Noise has also produced 26 award-winning CD compilations including CDs for First Night Boston and the National Association of College Broadcasters (which featured R.E.M., Anthrax, Primus, Cowboy Junkies, Henry Rollins, Cracker, Eve's Plum, Luscious Jackson, and Mazzy Star). The NACB CD received Print Magazine's annual 'CD Design Award.'

Big Noise's work has earned the firm gold and platinum awards from the Recording Industry Association of America, in addition to other major awards.

Al is a full voting and nominating member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (The Grammy Awards).

Al (along with platinum and gold record award-winning performers and songwriters John Cafferty, Mark Cutler and many many others) conceived the Bandwagon Project which produced a benefit recording and two concerts which raised awareness and thousands of dollars for the homeless in New England. For his efforts, Al went on to win The Jefferson Award from the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Foundation for Outstanding Public Service.

Al executive produced the CD soundtrack for actor Andrew McCarthy's directorial debut 'News for the Church' which became an Official Grammy Committee Ballot Entry for Best Compilation for A Motion Picture at the 2004 Grammy Awards. He also produced the documentary 'Billy Gilman: The Making of Everything and More' which became an Official Grammy Committee Ballot Entry for Best Long Form Music Video at the 2005 Grammy Awards.

Along with a group of prominent Rhode Island artists, Al helped co-found Bright Night Providence and is the Site and Artist Coordinator for the popular New Year's Eve event. He is also the chairman of the Rhode Island International Film Festival Grammy Nominating Commitee that submits film composers to the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences' annual event for Best Score and Best Song Written for A Motion Picture.

Al has composed songs with many award-winning and reknowned songwriters including John Cafferty, Sean Callery, Jimmy Crane, Mike Viola, and Mark Cutler, among others.

Al also currently serves as the executive director of the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame, Inc.
