Give a creative one-sentence description of your music: My brand of acoustic pop is rooted in folk rock and embellished by jazz and R&B sensibilities.

Finish the sentence: Someone will like my music if they like...John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Coldplay, Paul Simon, Death Cab for Cutie or Dave Matthews.

How and when you started making music: I grew up the son of a concert pianist (mom), so music has been around since I was born. I started piano lessons when I was 5, guitar when I was 9, and started writing music when I was 11.

What makes your music different? While the singer-songwriter genre is nothing new, I try to connect to the listener lyrically by singing about relatable topics - things everybody is going through. And if I need to vent about something personal, I try to connect to the listener using catchy melodies and familiar harmonic progressions, so that at the very least, they can sing along with me, even if they don't really care what I'm talking about.

Convince me to see your next show: I play for everybody - from the casual listener to the musician's musician. As I do in everyday life, I try to make everyone around me comfortable. We're in this world together and even if I'm on stage, I'm going to sing about things you care about, or I'm going to keep you stimulated with clever chord changes. I'm going to wax philosophical on love and politics, and I'm going to steal vocal riffs from Stevie Wonder and Hall & Oates. I'll also put you at ease by covering everyone from Michael Jackson to Lenny Kravitz, The Beatles to Amy Winehouse. Like I said, I play for everybody.

Why is it important for you to connect with music fans and what do you have to offer them as an artist? While my live shows are for everyone from the casual listener to the music history savant, in the end, I write songs for music fans. Fans that appreciate singles, but still buy albums. Fans that like a catchy hook, but still appreciate lyrics with substance. Fans that like to dance in supermarket aisles and fans that just like to sit and listen. It's important for me reach them and everyone in-between because I'm just like all of them. If I like the same things they do, they'll like my music. There's a song for every occasion and I strive to occupy a spot on a playlist for every mood.
