Christina's Latin CD
'Mi Reflejo' Makes History

'Mi Reflejo'

On the heels of Christina Aguilera's stunning self-titled debut album - 8x Platinum - 12 million worldwide - comes her acclaimed and record-breaking Latin Album 'Mi Reflejo.'

'Mi Reflejo' is the Highest Female Debut of All Time in the history of the Billboard Hot Latin 50 Chart, remaining at #1 for twenty consecutive weeks.

The CD will be sent for RIAA Gold and Platinum Latin certification. To date it is at 2x Platinum, 1x Gold with over half a million units - 507,618 shipped.

That makes Christina the only artist in history to have back-to-back #1 premieres with an English language album followed by a Spanish language album. Moreover, she is one of the few artists in history to have her very first two albums debut in #1 slots. As if that weren't enough, 'Mi Reflejo' debuted at #27 on Billboard's Top 200, meaning that both of her albums were in the Top 30, with her debut album clocking in at #22 the week 'Mi Reflejo' premiered.

The single 'Ven Conmigo' hit # 1 in Billboard's Hot Latin Track Chart - with over 908 spins and a 13,875,400 audience share, surpassing Ricardo Arjona'a 'Cuando' by 1,602,300 listeners, Oscar de la Hoya's 'Run to Me / Ven A Mi' by 2,196,700 listeners, Gloria Estefan's 'Como me duele Perderte' by 4,577,600 listeners and Ricky Martin's 'She Bangs' by 4,997,100 listeners. 'Ven Conmigo' also hit Number 1 on Spain's Airplay Chart and Number 1 on Mexico's Airplay Chart.

Produced by Rudy Perez, the new album comes on the heels of Christina's Best New Artist Grammy win. 'Mi Reflejo' includes six original Spanish-language compositions, plus Spanish versions of three #1 Christina hits.

'Mi Reflejo' has garnered Christina some of her best reviews yet, with the L.A. Times claiming 'Aguilera's powerful voice and technical skill set her apart' while Time Magazine's critic noted 'we listen impressed as she finds new fires within.' The New York Post called 'Mi Reflejo' 'a major contender at next year's Latin Grammys ... no other artist has realized English to Spanish crossover dreams with this kind of grace.'

She had a score of major TV appearances including 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' 'The Univision Caliente Music Festival,' 'The Late Show with David Letterman,' ABC's 'Good Morning America,' 'The Rosie O'Donnell Show,' 'The Billboard Music Awards,' 'The ABC Radio Music Awards,' and ABC's '20/20 Downtown.' Christina was also named Latina Magazine's 'Entertainer Of The Year,' and featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan Espanol.

Post-Grammys 2001
From Wall of Sound: 'Christina Aguilera added the much needed Latin flavor to last night's Grammy presentation. Her medley of two Spanish songs off her nominated Latin CD 'MI Reflejo' was well-sung, well choreographed, well-performed and very well-received by an audience dominated by many Aguilera fans. Although, last year's 'Best New Artist' winner went home empty-handed, she will be remembered for her one-of-kind performance. And with a new CD to be released in coming months, there is always next year. Aguilera is a versatile artist, who can shine in any language.
