2001 Year in Review: Christina makes Billboard year-end charts

Billboard Magazine has announced their year-end charts. 'Lady Marmalade' placed #24 on The Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart of 2001. 'Lady' is also the World's Best-Selling Single of 2001 having moved 5.2 million copies all over the globe. Christina's duet with Ricky Martin 'Nobody wants to Be Lonely' placed #55 on the year-end Hot 100 chart.

And amazingly, Christina's 1999 debut CD placed #96 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart of 2001 - two years after its release (it was also certified platinum in Europe)!

Also: 'Mi Reflejo' placed #2 on the Top Latin Albums of 2001 chart and #2 on the Top Latin Pop Albums of 2001 chart - actually charting better than it did in 2000 (it placed #5 last year).

'Mi Reflejo,' released in September 2000, had the second-best sales figures of any Latin album last year, according to SoundScan, moving upward of 428,000 copies. 'Mi Reflejo' was also received the highest certification in Mexico for sales for the year. Read more: 'Mi Reflejo' makes history

And 'Genie In A Bottle' actually re-enters the Singles Sales Chart at #18.

On the European Top 20's year-end tally, 'Nobody Wants to Be Lonely' placed #4 and 'Lady Marmalade' placed #8 for 2001.

Christina's Top Soundtracks of 2001: 'Moulin Rouge' peaked at #3 on Billboard's Top 200 and sold 2.1 million copies as the film raked in over $57 million dollars. 'What A Girl Wants' was featured on the 'What Women Want' soundtrack also, peaking at #12 selling 473,000 copies while the movie took in over $182 million dollars.

What a way for Christina to cap off an incredible 2001!

'What's Going On' was Top Debut of the Week at #51 on Billboard's Hot 100 during its initial week in October 2001. Great strong debut! The song went on to peak at #27.
